Molly Gardner has accepted our invitation to judge at Egmont A&P Show 2016 and we eagerly anticipate a strong line-up of exhibitors from Taranaki, Whanganui and Manawatu, but also from King Country, Hawkes Bay and even Waiarapa and Waikato.
In this the fourth year of the Alpaca Section, the venue is to be the TSB Arena where the showring and the alpaca pens will all be under the same roof.
Vehicle access will be from Maire St. with parking allocated in the paddock west of the stables. Leading alpacas from the parking area in through the rear doors of the arena will be the most efficient route to their pens, which will be available to occupy anytime from 4pm Friday. Overnight camping on the Showgrounds is permissible and a small charge is payable to A&P.
Penning deadline is expected to be approximately 9.30 am on Saturday, allowing plenty of time for travel from as far as Manawatu or King Country.
Paul Eising, professional shearer will be available on Saturday afternoon to shear after the Supreme Championship has been awarded.
The Hawera alpaca show is developing a reputation for being friendly and convivial. Exhibitors vary in experience from beginners through to seasoned veterans, all wanting to have a relaxed, stress-free and enjoyable day spent in the company of fellow breeders and their agreeable alpacas.
