A very sucessful Alpaca Expo 2011 was held Sep 30th to Oct 2nd at Baypark Stadium in Mt Maunganui, see below to catch up on what happened over the weekend.

Congratulations to the winners of the 2011 Kids competitions.
Ruby Molloy, aged 5, of Thames South School won the art competition with this fantastic drawing of an alpaca and cria.
Tyler Dodd of Hamilton won the colouring competition with this beautiful grey alpaca.
The National Alpaca Auction went well with 5 of the 6 lots selling during or shortly after the auction. Results are as follows (all +GST):
Lot 1 - Hadstock NZ Cracka - sold to Riverdale Alpaca Stud for $15,000
Lot 2 - Waiheke Sundancer - sold to Blair Athol Alpacas for $8,000
Lot 3 - Aquaviva Cadbury - sold to Starlight Alpacas & Double M Alpacas for $6,000
Lot 4 - Ridgedale Jamilla - sold to McKenzie Fields Alpacas for $7,000
Lot 6 - Homestead Farm Sophie Ella - sold to Muxlow Alpacas for $11,500
