Introducing the New AANZ Registry Team

Introducing the New AANZ Registry Team

March 7, 2024

One of the many things your National Council has been working on is building a relationship with PBB New Zealand, so that we can secure longevity and consistency for the alpaca registry into the future.

We want to warmly welcome the PBB NZ registry team to the Alpaca Association.

As of the 1st of March 2024, they will be joining the team to assist with all registry enquiries as a part of our six-month trial. The aim is to continue to deliver the high-quality services we have come to expect while we grow as an Association and embrace new opportunities.

About PBB NZ

PBB NZ started their story in the beef industry and was Established in 1996.

PBB was formed to provide combined pedigree and performance recording for the Angus and Hereford breed associations.

They’ve grown since then, both in staff numbers and the services they provide to the agricultural industry.
Samantha has a team of 3 others who can assist and give us that cover that one person can’t do on their own.

Their business blends agriculture and science. They offer a diverse range of services but at the heart of it all they’re a solution hub providing customers like the AANZ with tools to make their lives easier.
It is hoped that this relationship will grow into a contract, with a service level /performance standard of expectation and hopefully link to future opportunities for the AANZ, such as EID tags, DNA testing etc.

World Alpaca Conference 2025

Your hosts Robin Näsemann, Heinz Kuhne-Pfaff, Simon Klink and the entire support team are excited to welcome you as a guest to the 2025 World Alpaca Conference in Ilshofen.

With the assistance of the German Organizations AAeV., NWK, AELAS, LAREU and AZVD we have created an exciting program that will have Alpaca breeders’ hearts beat a little faster. Every attendee has an early opportunity to review and select program events they are especially interested in.

It is our vision to make WAC 2025 an event where Alpaca breeders from all over the world come together to meet, and collaborate on all things Alpaca: culture, breeding programs, and the industry.

Alpaca Shearing

Alpaca shearing is a vital part of an alpaca’s life. Shearing is an animal welfare issue and therefore one of the most important aspects of alpaca husbandry. Alpaca can be shorn on a table or on the floor, both methods are safe for the alpaca and shearer. The alpaca is restrained, [legs and head] to ensure safety for alpaca and the shearer. You can find a list of shearers under the 'Farming Alpaca' tab.
